Solar Valley Forms Consortium for Solar, Wind Power Plant in Oman

Solar Valley Company has announced the formation of a consortium for the development of a 200 MW off-grid solar and wind power plant in the Sultanate of Oman. The project will be implemented under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with private tenant. The consortium will be led by Solar Valley Company, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions in the Middle East. Other members of the consortium include, a major Omani construction and engineering company, and Scatec Solar, a leading global developer and operator of solar power plants. The project will be located in Oman, which has excellent solar and wind resources. It will consist of a 100-200 MW solar power plant, a 100-150 MW wind power plant, and a storage facility of 200 MW. The storage facility will allow the plant to store energy generated during peak production periods and release it during periods of high demand. The project is expected to create up to 20 jobs during construction and 50 permanent jobs during operation. It will also provide clean, renewable energy to the people of Oman and help the country to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels. The project is a major milestone for Solar Valley Company and its partners. It is the company’s first major project in Oman and will help to establish its position as a leading player in the renewable energy market in the Middle East. The devleopemet of the project is well aligned with Oman Vision 2024.
